Biography

DaLemuel
Lo-fi. Chillout. Downbeat. Trip-hop. A touch of boom bap. DaLemuel weaves sounds that feel both nostalgic and forward-thinking – fusing the warmth of analog beats with the fluid energy of modern electronic textures.
Born and raised with hip-hop roots in the late 90s, Bernd Braun started his journey experimenting with drum machines, dusty vinyl loops, and jam sessions.
What began as raw boom bap gradually evolved into a more reflective, cinematic sound – a blend of chillout, lo-fi hip hop, trip-hop, and world-inspired rhythms that capture emotion and movement.
Today, DaLemuel’s music lives in the quiet moments between thought and groove – where rhythm drifts, synths breathe, and every beat feels like a memory. Armed with a small Akai drum machine, a DAW, and a touch of AI experimentation, he continues to craft immersive soundscapes that invite listeners to slow down and feel.
“It’s about flow, emotion, and the echoes of time –
music that breathes in the space between light and shadow.”
Timeline
Early 90s – The First Notes
Music began with piano lessons – learning harmony, patience, and the art of silence between notes. Later came the bass guitar, adding groove and feel – rhythm became instinct.
1998 – The First Beats
A few years after discovering hip-hop, DaLemuel dove deep into underground rap culture.
No freestyle sessions – just pure writing, raw recording, and the search for authentic sound.
Boom bap drums, dusty loops, and underground energy set the foundation.
2003 – The Experiment Phase
Mixed live basslines with sampled jazz chords. The goal shifted from creating tracks to building moods – finding emotion in rhythm and tone.
2008 – Expanding the Sound
Moved beyond strict hip-hop forms, diving into downtempo, chillout, and trip-hop influences. The beats got slower, deeper – more about atmosphere than bars.
2015 – Reconnection
After years away from music, the spark reignited. Back on track – rediscovering creativity and the flow that had never truly disappeared.
2020 – Fusion & Flow
Shifted fully to producing with Akai gear and digital DAWs. More vinyl sampling, tighter drum work, and a growing focus on texture and space. This marked the start of DaLemuel’s signature chillout fusion sound.
2024 – New Dimensions
Began exploring AI-assisted composition and sound design – not to replace creativity, but to expand it. Using machine learning tools to shape new timbres, refine mixes, and elevate production quality to a cinematic level.
“Technology became a collaborator – another instrument to play.”
2025 – Echoes of Time
The story continues – Echoes of Relative Time is nearing release. An album exploring memory, rhythm, and emotion in the flow of time. Each track feels like a reflection – both grounded and dreamlike.
2025 – Still in Motion
DaLemuel keeps evolving – blending analog warmth, lo-fi edges, and deep downtempo spirit.
“Every track is a reflection of movement – slow, intentional, alive.”
